Time Zone: Union County lies in the Eastern Time Zone (EST/EDT) and observes daylight saving time.

The community of Lake Butler is the Seat for Union County.

Union County was founded May 20, 1921 and was created by taking area from Bradford County.

From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Union had a population of 15,213 people. This is a decrease of 2.07% since the last Census (which gave a population of 15,535 people in 2010).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Union represented 0.08% of the total population of Florida.

    (Less than 2 miles to the east)
  • Raiford
    (8 miles [12.9 km] to the east)
  • Worthington Springs
    (7 miles [11.3 km] to the southwest)
