Morgan County was founded February 19, 1889 and was created by taking area from Weld County.

From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Morgan had a population of 29,068 people. This is an increase of 2.93% since the last Census (which gave a population of 28,241 people in 2010).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Morgan represented 0.56% of the total population of Colorado.
