Welcome to Pear ...So far, we found very little information about Pear. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1> We've added Pear to our Gazetteer with the hope that we can develop more information. The location of Pear has been provided by the Geographic Names Information System (ie- the GNIS).<3> While we don't have a date for the founding of Pear, you might consider that their post office opened in 1899. While the community is gone, the present day location for Pear is 2,870 feet [875 m] above sea level.<4> In other words, the altitude of Pear is about ½ mile above sea level. Time Zone: The area where Pear was located is in the Eastern Time Zone (EST/EDT) and observes daylight saving time If Pear still existed, it would have been in the (304) & (681)<5> area codes.
