Welcome to Moncton ...

So far, we found very little information about Moncton. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

We've added Moncton to our Gazetteer with the hope that we can develop more information. While we don't have the exact location of Moncton , we believe that it would have been located within present day King County<2>.

While we don't have a date for the founding of Moncton, you might consider that their post office opened in 1910. The community was inundated by Rattlesnake Lake.

When the people of Moncton referred to themselves (known as a demonym), they are believed to have used Monctonian<3>

Time Zone: The area where Moncton was located is in the Pacific Time Zone (PST/PDT) and observes daylight saving time

As we work on our Gazetteer, we occasionally find mention of a community that is new to us. When we find such a community, we add it to our Gazetteer with the hope of adding more information in the future.

The earliest source we've referenced which mentioned Moncton was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<4>

From that list, the Moncton post office opened in 1910.
