The population of Riverton represents 1.4% of the total population of Utah (which has 2,763,885 people), making it the state's 17th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 38,753 people, the population of Riverton increased 54.94% from the 2000 Census (which had a count of 25,011 people).

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Riverton was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<8>

From that list, the Riverton post office opened in 1892.
