Welcome to Nimrod ...

So far, we found very little information about Nimrod. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

Nimrod was located in the Texas Panhandle.

Nimrod would have been located within present day Eastland County<2>.



While we don't have a date for the founding of Nimrod, you might consider that their post office opened  in 1888.

While the community is gone, the present day location for Nimrod is 1,690 feet [515 m] above sea level.<3>.

Time Zone: The area where Nimrod was located is in the Central Time Zone (CST/CDT) and observes daylight saving time

Adding Nimrod to Our Gazetteer ...

We originally found mention of Nimrod in both the FIPS-55 and the GNIS. For more information, see the FIPS and GNIS Codes sections on our Miscellaneous Page.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Nimrod was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<6>

From that list, the Nimrod post office opened in 1888.

We also found Nimrod in the book titled Business Atlas and Shippers' Guide (1895).
