Welcome to Biloxi ...

So far, we found very little information about Biloxi. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

We've added Biloxi to our Gazetteer with the hope that we can develop more information. Biloxi was located in the Piney Woods (East Texas).

While we don't have the exact location of Biloxi , we believe that it would have been located within present day Newton County<2>.

While we don't have a date for the founding of Biloxi, you might consider that their post office opened in 1849.

Time Zone: The area where Biloxi was located is in the Central Time Zone (CST/CDT) and observes daylight saving time

If Biloxi still existed, it would have been in the (409) area code.

We originally found mention of Biloxi in both the FIPS-55 and the GNIS. For more information, see the FIPS and GNIS Codes sections on our Miscellaneous Page.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Biloxi was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<3>

From that list, the Biloxi post office opened in 1849.

We also found Biloxi in the book titled Table of U.S. Post Offices in the United States (Jan. 1851).
