Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Houston had an population of 1,239 people. This is a decrease of 4.4% since the 2010 Census (or a decrease of 5.71% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Houston had a population of 1,296 people. This makes Houston the county's 14th most populous community.

The population of Houston represents 0.01% of the total population of Pennsylvania (which has 12,702,379 people), making it the state's 539th most populous community.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Houston was in the book titled Business Atlas and Shippers' Guide (1895).

We also found Houston in the book titled .<7> From that list, the Houston post office opened in 1901.
