Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Derry had an population of 2,514 people. This is a decrease of 6.47% since the 2010 Census (or a decrease of 15.95% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Derry had a population of 2,688 people. This makes Derry the county's 15th most populous community.

The population of Derry represents 0.02% of the population of Pennsylvania (which has 12,702,379 people), making it the state's 348th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 2,688 people, the population of Derry decreased 10.13% from the 2000 Census (which had a count of 2,991 people).

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Derry was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<6>

From that list, the Derry post office opened in 1906.
