Welcome to Academy ...
So far, we found very little information about Academy. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>
We've added Academy to our Gazetteer with the hope that we can develop more information. We would especially like to find the location of Academy - knowing its coordinates, we can explore things like its relationship to neighboring communities, nearby cemeteries, etc. If you can help us with Academy, please Contact Us.
While we don't have the exact location of Academy , we believe that it would have been located within present day Bryan County<2>.
While we don't have a date for the founding of Academy, you might get a feel for it by knowing that during our research the earliest mention that we found (so far) was on a map dated 1911.
Time Zone: The area where Academy was located is in the Central Time Zone (CST/CDT) and observes daylight saving time
Communities Also Named Academy ...
Using our Gazetteer, we found that there are 17 communities that are also named Academy - they are located in Alberta, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Georgia (3), Missouri, New Jersey, Nova Scotia, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania (2), South Dakota, Texas, Virginia and Washington.

As we work on our Gazetteer, we occasionally find mention of a community that is new to us. When we find such a community, we add it to our Gazetteer with the hope of adding more information in the future.
