At the time of the 2010 Census, Williamsport had a population of 1,023 people. This makes Williamsport the county's 5th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 1,023 people, the population of Williamsport increased 2.1% from the 2000 Census (which had a count of 1,002 people).

We originally found mention of Williamsport in both the FIPS-55 and the GNIS. For more information, see the FIPS and GNIS Codes sections on our Miscellaneous Page.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Williamsport was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<9>

From that list, the Williamsport post office opened in 1818.

We also found Williamsport in the book titled U.S. Post Offices (Oct. 1846).
