At the time of the 2010 Census, North Star had a population of 236 people. This makes North Star the county's 12th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 236 people, the population of North Star increased 12.92% from the 2000 Census (which had a count of 209 people).

We originally found mention of North Star in both the FIPS-55 and the GNIS. For more information, see the FIPS and GNIS Codes sections on our Miscellaneous Page.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for North Star was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<6>

From that list, the North Star post office opened in 1850.

We also found North Star in the book titled Table of U.S. Post Offices in the United States (Jan. 1851).
