Welcome to Handy ...

So far, we found very little information about Handy. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

We've added Handy to our Gazetteer with the hope that we can develop more information. We would especially like to find the location of Handy - knowing its coordinates, we can explore things like its relationship to neighboring communities, nearby cemeteries, etc. If you can help us with Handy, please Contact Us.

While we don't have the exact location of Handy , we believe that it would have been located within present day Fulton County<2>.

While we don't have a date for the founding of Handy, you might consider that their post office opened in 1856.

Time Zone: The area where Handy was located is in the Eastern Time Zone (EST/EDT) and observes daylight saving time

The location where Handy once stood is in the (419) & (567)<3> area codes.

Communities Also Named Handy ...

Using our Gazetteer, we found that there are two Ohio communities named Handy: This one is located in Fulton County and the other is located in Geauga County.

Beyond Ohio, there are 14 communities that are also named Handy - they are located in Alabama, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana (2), Kansas (2), Michigan (2), Minnesota, Missouri, North Carolina and Texas.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Handy was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<4>

From that list, the Handy post office opened in 1856.
