With a 2010 count of 597 people, the population of Cygnet increased 5.85% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 564 people).

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Cygnet was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<7>

From that list, the Cygnet post office opened in 1883.

We also found Cygnet in the book titled Business Atlas and Shippers' Guide (1895).
