When the people of Pittsburgh<4> referred to themselves (known as a demonym), they are believed to have used Pittsburgher<5> While the community is gone, the present day location for Pittsburgh is 6,130 feet [1,868 m] above sea level.<6> In other words, the elevation of Pittsburgh is about 1¼ mile [or ~1¾ km] above sea level. Time Zone: The area where Pittsburgh was located is in the Pacific Time Zone (PST/PDT) and observes daylight saving time If Pittsburgh still existed, it would have been in the (775) area code.
