Welcome to Otten ...

So far, we found very little information about Otten. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

We've added Otten to our Gazetteer with the hope that we can develop more information. We would especially like to find the location of Otten - knowing its coordinates, we can explore things like its relationship to neighboring communities, nearby cemeteries, etc. If you can help us with Otten, please Contact Us.

While we don't have the exact location of Otten , we believe that it would have been located within present day Socorro County<2>.

While we don't have a date for the founding of Otten, you might consider that their post office opened in 1922.

Time Zone: The area where Otten was located is in the Mountain Time Zone (MST/MDT) and observes daylight saving time

If Otten still existed, it would have been in the (575) area code.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Otten was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<3>

From that list, the Otten post office opened in 1922.
