The Commemorative Quarter for New Mexico

Welcome to Aragon ...

So far, we found very little information about Aragon. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

We've added Aragon to our Gazetteer with the hope that we can develop more information. We would especially like to find the location of Aragon - knowing its coordinates, we can explore things like its relationship to neighboring communities, nearby cemeteries, etc. If you can help us with Aragon, please Contact Us.

While we don't have the exact location of Aragon , we believe that it would have been located within present day San Miguel County<2>.

Time Zone: The area where Aragon was located is in the Mountain Time Zone (MST/MDT) and observes daylight saving time

Communities Also Named Aragon ...

While we believe that this Aragon is located in San Miguel County, we know of another 2 New Mexico communities named Aragon. Those communities are located in the following counties: Catron and Cibola County.

Beyond New Mexico, there are 4 communities that are also named Aragon - they are located in Georgia and Texas.

Footnotes ...

<1>We use the term 'Historic' broadly and it generally means that the community no longer exists. However, it can also mean that the community might still exist, but was significantly larger or had a more 'official' existence in the past than it does now. Unfortunately our sources of data have proven to be unreliable. If you can provide us with more specific information about Aragon, please let us know so that we can improve our accuracy.
<2>If you're interested in how the shape of New Mexico's counties, including San Miguel, have changed over time, we recommend the Atlas of Historical County Boundaries.
