Welcome to Riggs ...

So far, we found very little information about Riggs. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

We've added Riggs to our Gazetteer with the hope that we can develop more information. We would especially like to find the location of Riggs - knowing its coordinates, we can explore things like its relationship to neighboring communities, nearby cemeteries, etc. If you can help us with Riggs, please Contact Us.

While we don't have the exact location of Riggs , we believe that it would have been located within present day Sheridan County<2>.

While we don't have a date for the founding of Riggs, you might consider that their post office opened in 1888.

Time Zone: The area where Riggs was located is in the Mountain Time Zone (MST/MDT) and observes daylight saving time

If Riggs still existed, it would have been in the (308) area code.

Using our Gazetteer, we found that there are 10 communities that are also named Riggs - they are located in Arkansas, California, Iowa, Kentucky, Missouri, Ohio, Pennsylvania (2), Tennessee and Virginia.

Adding Riggs to Our Gazetteer ...

The earliest source we've referenced which mentioned Riggs was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<3>

From that list, the Riggs post office opened in 1888.

We also found Riggs on a map titled Rand McNally Map of Nebraska (1895).
