Welcome to Moomaw ...

So far, we found very little information about Moomaw. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

We've added Moomaw to our Gazetteer with the hope that we can develop more information. We would especially like to find the location of Moomaw - knowing its coordinates, we can explore things like its relationship to neighboring communities, nearby cemeteries, etc. If you can help us with Moomaw, please Contact Us.

While we don't have the exact location of Moomaw , we believe that it would have been located within present day Sheridan County<2>.

While we don't have a date for the founding of Moomaw, you might consider that their post office opened in 1890.

Time Zone: The area where Moomaw was located is in the Mountain Time Zone (MST/MDT) and observes daylight saving time

If Moomaw still existed, it would have been in the (308) area code.

The earliest source we've referenced which mentioned Moomaw was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<3>

From that list, the Moomaw post office opened in 1890.

We also found Moomaw on a map titled Rand McNally Map of Nebraska (1895).
