While we don't have a date for the founding of Lamar, you might consider that their post office opened  in 1887.

Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Lamar had an population of 22 people. This is a decrease of 4.35% since the 2010 Census (or an increase of 15.79% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Lamar had a population of 23 people. This makes Lamar the county's 3rd most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 23 people, the population of Lamar increased 21.05% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 19 people).

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Lamar was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<6>

From that list, the Lamar post office opened in 1887.

We also found Lamar on a map titled Rand McNally Map of Nebraska (1895).
