Welcome to Eldorado ...

So far, we found very little information about Eldorado. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

We've added Eldorado to our Gazetteer with the hope that we can develop more information. We would especially like to find the location of Eldorado - knowing its coordinates, we can explore things like its relationship to neighboring communities, nearby cemeteries, etc. If you can help us with Eldorado, please Contact Us.

While we don't have the exact location of Eldorado , we believe that it would have been located within present day Clay County<2>.

While we don't have a date for the founding of Eldorado, you might consider that their post office opened in 1888.

Time Zone: The area where Eldorado was located is in the Central Time Zone (CST/CDT) and observes daylight saving time

The location where Eldorado once stood is in the (402) and (531)<3> area codes.

Communities Also Named Eldorado ...

Using our Gazetteer, we found that there are 24 communities that are also named Eldorado - they are located in Florida (2), Georgia (2), Illinois, Iowa, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, New Mexico (2), North Carolina, Ohio (2), Oklahoma, Ontario, Oregon, Pennsylvania (2), Saskatchewan, Texas and Wisconsin.

Adding Eldorado to Our Gazetteer ...

The earliest source we've referenced which mentioned Eldorado was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<4>

From that list, the Eldorado post office opened in 1888.

We also found Eldorado on a map titled Rand McNally Map of Nebraska (1895).
