So far, we found very little information about Cumro. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

Cumro would have been located within present day Custer County<2>.



While we don't have a date for the founding of Cumro, you might consider that their post office opened  in 1885.

While the community is gone, the present day location for Cumro is 2,310 feet [704 m] above sea level.<3> In other words, the altitude of Cumro is about ½ mile above sea level.

Time Zone: The area where Cumro was located is in the Central Time Zone (CST/CDT) and observes daylight saving time

We originally found mention of Cumro in both the FIPS-55 and the GNIS. For more information, see the FIPS and GNIS Codes sections on our Miscellaneous Page.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Cumro was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<6>

From that list, the Cumro post office opened in 1885.

We also found Cumro on a map titled Rand McNally Map of Nebraska (1895).
