The village of Cody is located in Cherry County<1>.


The location of Cody has been provided by the Geographic Names Information System (ie- the GNIS).<2>


While we don't have a date for the founding of Cody, you might get a feel for it by knowing that during our research the earliest mention that we found (so far) was on a map dated 1895.

From the  Census Estimates for 2019, Cody has a population of 157 people<3> (see below for details).

Cody is 3,100 feet [945 m] above sea level.<4> In other words, the altitude of Cody is about ½ mile above sea level.

Time Zone: Cody lies in the Central Time Zone (CST/CDT) and observes daylight saving time

Note: If you travel west from Cody (for example, toward Gordon), you will leave Central Time and cross into the Mountain Time Zone (MST/MDT).

Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Cody had an population of 157 people. This is an increase of 1.95% since the 2010 Census (or an increase of 5.37% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Cody had a population of 154 people. This makes Cody the county's 2nd most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 154 people, the population of Cody increased 3.36% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 149 people).
