Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Alliance had an population of 757 people. This is a decrease of 2.45% since the 2010 Census (or a decrease of 3.07% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Alliance had a population of 776 people (or 5.9% of the total population of Pamlico County). This makes Alliance the county's 3rd most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 776 people, the population of Alliance has remained roughly the same as the 2000 Census (with a count of 781 people).

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Alliance was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<6>

From that list, the Alliance post office opened in 1890.

We also found Alliance in the book titled Business Atlas and Shippers' Guide (1895).
