Around Boundary Creek ...

Although we found mention of Boundary Creek during our research, we really don't have any information about it.<1> Given the context of how Boundary Creek was mentioned, we believe that it was a community rather than some type of landmark. We have done a cursory search and if it's a community, we haven't been able to find any evidence that it still exists.

The largest community within a 50 mile [80 km] radius is Moncton. It lies just east of Boundary Creek. Moncton has a population of 64,100 people.<2>

The next largest community is Dieppe. It is located about 10 miles [16 km] to the east of Boundary Creek and has a population of 18,600 people.

The following large communities are also in the area. Keep in mind that when we give a distance, it's a 'straight-line' distance and not the distance if driven.<3>

Footnotes ...

<1>If we encounter the name of what might be a community, our methodology is to add that name to our Gazetteer. For example, we might find a sentence like "He went north past Boundary Creek and then turned east". While Boundary Creek could be some kind of landmark, we think that it's more likely to be a community. We've added Boundary Creek as a placeholder with the hope that we'll be able to add more information in the future.

Just as a reminder: Our definition of a community is rather broad and includes those places where several families lived and had a name which identified that place. The community might still exist or it might have existed for just a short period of time. Places of interest include buildings at a crossroad, families in a hollow or maybe the location of a way station. It also includes places like mines, lumber camps, ferry crossings, etc.

Also keep in mind that Boundary Creek could have been on the original document by mistake, misspelled, the original/alternate name of a community that we've listed elsewhere or was placed in the wrong . Sometimes a post office or train station would have a different name than the community where it's located, so two names might be referring to the same community.

Since confusion between is common, we searched and weren't able to find another New Brunswick community named Boundary Creek.

<2>Unless noted otherwise, the population counts we use should be considered estimates. Our population values for Boundary Creek were taken from various sources and although they can be traced back to Statistics Canada (StatCan), they should not be considered official.

<3>Our distances are not driving distances, but are calculated as a 'straight-line' distance that stretches from Boundary Creek. A straight line distance ignores things like rivers, canyons, lakes, et cetera - it's truly a line from Point A (ie- Boundary Creek) to Point B.

If you need the driving distance, we recommend that you use one of the Mapping Services listed on our Map Page for Boundary Creek. Since we usually use Google Maps, we've provided the following link for your convenience: Google Map and Driving Directions starting from Boundary Creek

Our distance measurements begin at a specific point in Boundary Creek. The point that we are using is located at these GPS coordinates - Latitude: 46.0619, Longitude: -64.9707     [Map].

<4>The IATA and ICAO are organizations that, amongst other functions, provide identifying codes for airports. The International Air Transport Association (IATA) is an airline trade organization. The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) is an agency of the United Nations. Although the codes are similar, be careful not to confuse them.

<5>On an airport-by-airport basis, an NFDC report typically includes a description of airport operations, contacts, the runway(s), and radio, navigation & weather frequencies. The National Flight Data Center (NFDC) is operated by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) with the purpose of collecting, validating and disseminating information about airports.

<6>When we are planning a trip (for example, to Boundary Creek), we usually look for the obvious: the choice of airlines that fly into the airport, the number of flights, the connections we have to make, which car rentals are available, etc. We also look for sights and attractions that we might find between any given airport and our destination - we do love exploring. We're willing to fly into a more distant airport if we can get the services and amenities that we like. Even though our choice of airport might be inconvenient to others, it usually gives us a better trip.
