Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Havre had an population of 9,787 people. This is an increase of 5.12% since the 2010 Census (or an increase of 1.73% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Havre had a population of 9,310 people (or 57.84% of the total population of Hill County). This makes Havre the county's most populous community.

The population of Havre represents 0.94% of the total population of Montana (which has 989,415 people), making it the state's 8th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 9,310 people, the population of Havre decreased 3.23% from the 2000 Census (which had a count of 9,621 people).
