The city of Conrad is located in Pondera County<1> (at the time of its founding, Conrad was located in Chouteau County) and is the County Seat for Pondera County.


The location of Conrad has been provided by the Geographic Names Information System (ie- the GNIS).<2>


While we don't have a date for the founding of Conrad, you might get a feel for it by knowing that during our research the earliest mention that we found (so far) was in a book dated 1895.

From the  Census Estimates for 2019, Conrad has a population of 2,445 people<3> (see below for details).

Conrad is 3,510 feet [1,070 m] above sea level.<4> In other words, the elevation of Conrad is about ¾ mile [or ~1 km] above sea level.

Time Zone: Conrad lies in the Mountain Time Zone (MST/MDT) and observes daylight saving time

Population Details ...

Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Conrad had an population of 2,445 people. This is a decrease of 4.86% since the 2010 Census (or a decrease of 11.19% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Conrad had a population of 2,570 people (or 41.77% of the total population of Pondera County). This makes Conrad the county's most populous community.

The population of Conrad represents 0.26% of the total population of Montana (which has 989,415 people), making it the state's 29th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 2,570 people, the population of Conrad decreased 6.65% from the 2000 Census (which had a count of 2,753 people).
