Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Baker had an population of 1,914 people. This is an increase of 9.94% since the 2010 Census (or an increase of 12.92% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Baker had a population of 1,741 people (which is 60.24% of the total population of Fallon County). This makes Baker the county's most populous community.

The population of Baker represents 0.18% of the population of Montana (which has 989,415 people), making it the state's 41st most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 1,741 people, the population of Baker increased 2.71% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 1,695 people).

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Baker was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<6>

From that list, the Baker post office opened in 1908.
