Welcome to Magnet ...

So far, we found very little information about Magnet. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

We've added Magnet to our Gazetteer with the hope that we can develop more information. We would especially like to find the location of Magnet - knowing its coordinates, we can explore things like its relationship to neighboring communities, nearby cemeteries, etc. If you can help us with Magnet, please Contact Us.

While we don't have the exact location of Magnet , we believe that it would have been located within present day Atchison County<2>.

While we don't have a date for the founding of Magnet, you might consider that their post office opened in 1880.

Time Zone: The area where Magnet was located is in the Central Time Zone (CST/CDT) and observes daylight saving time

Magnet would have been located in the (660) area code.

Using our Gazetteer, we found that there are 9 communities that are also named Magnet - they are located in Arkansas, California, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Manitoba, Nebraska, Texas and Virginia.

Adding Magnet to Our Gazetteer ...

The earliest source we've referenced which mentioned Magnet was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<3>

From that list, the Magnet post office opened in 1880.

We also found Magnet in the book titled Business Atlas and Shippers' Guide (1895).
