The community of Chillicothe is the Seat for Livingston County.

Livingston County was founded in 1837 and was created by taking area from Carroll County.

From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Livingston had a population of 14,982 people. This is a decrease of 1.4% since the last Census (which gave a population of 15,195 people in 2010).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Livingston represented 0.25% of the total population of Missouri.
