Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Crystal had an population of 22,896 people. This is an increase of 3.36% since the 2010 Census (or an increase of 0.87% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Crystal had a population of 22,151 people. This makes Crystal the county's 13th most populous community.

The population of Crystal represents 0.42% of the total population of Minnesota (which has 5,303,925 people), making it the state's 47th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 22,151 people, the population of Crystal decreased 2.41% from the 2000 Census (which had a count of 22,698 people).

We originally found mention of Crystal in both the FIPS-55 and the GNIS. For more information, see the FIPS and GNIS Codes sections on our Miscellaneous Page.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Crystal was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<6>

From that list, the Crystal post office opened in 1883.

We also found Crystal in the book titled Business Atlas and Shippers' Guide (1895).
