Charlevoix County was founded April 2, 1869 and was created by taking area from Emmet County. From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Charlevoix had a population of 26,202 people. This is an increase of 0.97% since the last Census (which gave a population of 25,949 people in 2010).
