At the time of the 2010 Census, Berlin had a population of 4,485 people (which is 8.72% of the total population of Worcester County). This makes Berlin the county's 2nd most populous community.

The population of Berlin represents 0.08% of the population of Maryland (which has 5,773,552 people), making it the state's 44th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 4,485 people, the population of Berlin increased 28.47% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 3,491 people).

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Berlin was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<9>

From that list, the Berlin post office opened in 1820.

We also found Berlin in the book titled U.S. Post Offices (Oct. 1846).
