At the time of the 2010 Census, Berea had a population of 13,561 people (which is 16.36% of the total population of Madison County). This makes Berea the county's 2nd most populous community.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Berea was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<7>

From that list, the Berea post office opened in 1867.

We also found Berea in the book titled List of Post Offices in the United States (1870).
