Welcome to Sother ...

So far, we found very little information about Sother. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

We've added Sother to our Gazetteer with the hope that we can develop more information. We would especially like to find the location of Sother - knowing its coordinates, we can explore things like its relationship to neighboring communities, nearby cemeteries, etc. If you can help us with Sother, please Contact Us.

While we don't have the exact location of Sother , we believe that it would have been located within present day Nemaha County<2>.

While we don't have a date for the founding of Sother, you might consider that their post office opened in 1871.

Time Zone: The area where Sother was located is in the Central Time Zone (CST/CDT) and observes daylight saving time

Sother would have been located in the (785) area code.

Adding Sother to Our Gazetteer ...

As we work on our Gazetteer, we occasionally find mention of a community that is new to us. When we find such a community, we add it to our Gazetteer with the hope of adding more information in the future.

The earliest source we've referenced which mentioned Sother was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<3>

From that list, the Sother post office opened in 1871.
