While we don't have a date for the founding of Menlo, you might consider that their post office opened  in 1888.

From the  Census Estimates for 2019, Menlo has a population of 58 people<3> (see below for details).

Menlo is 2,940 feet [896 m] above sea level.<4> In other words, the elevation of Menlo is about ½ mile above sea level.

Time Zone: Menlo lies in the Central Time Zone (CST/CDT) and observes daylight saving time

Note: If you travel west from Menlo (for example, toward Goodland), you will leave Central Time and cross into the Mountain Time Zone (MST/MDT).

Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Menlo had an population of 58 people. This is a decrease of 4.92% since the 2010 Census (or an increase of 1.75% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Menlo had a population of 61 people. This makes Menlo the county's 5th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 61 people, the population of Menlo increased 7.02% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 57 people).

We originally found mention of Menlo in both the FIPS-55 and the GNIS. For more information, see the FIPS and GNIS Codes sections on our Miscellaneous Page.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Menlo was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<6>

From that list, the Menlo post office opened in 1888.

We also found Menlo in the book titled Business Atlas and Shippers' Guide (1895).
