Welcome to Bruce ...

So far, we found very little information about Bruce. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

We've added Bruce to our Gazetteer with the hope that we can develop more information. We would especially like to find the location of Bruce - knowing its coordinates, we can explore things like its relationship to neighboring communities, nearby cemeteries, etc. If you can help us with Bruce, please Contact Us.

While we don't have the exact location of Bruce , we believe that it would have been located within present day Crawford County<2>.

While we don't have a date for the founding of Bruce, you might consider that their post office opened in 1898.

If Bruce still existed, it would have been in the (620) area code.

Communities Also Named Bruce ...

Using our Gazetteer, we found that there are two Kansas communities named Bruce: This one is located in Crawford County and the other is located in Stevens County.

Beyond Kansas, there are 34 communities that are also named Bruce - they are located in Alberta, Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Georgia (2), Illinois, Iowa, Kentucky, Michigan (3), Minnesota, Mississippi, Montana, New Brunswick, North Carolina (2), North Dakota, Ohio (2), Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Texas (2), Virginia (3), Washington, West Virginia and Wisconsin (2).

As we work on our Gazetteer, we occasionally find mention of a community that is new to us. When we find such a community, we add it to our Gazetteer with the hope of adding more information in the future.

The earliest source we've referenced which mentioned Bruce was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<3>

From that list, the Bruce post office opened in 1898.
