At the time of the 2010 Census, Oswego had a population of 30,355 people (which is 26.46% of the total population of Kendall County). This makes Oswego the county's most populous community.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Oswego was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<9>

From that list, the Oswego post office opened in 1838.
