At the time of the 2010 Census, Frankfort had a population of 17,782 people. This makes Frankfort the county's 10th most populous community.

The population of Frankfort represents 0.14% of the total population of Illinois (which has 12,830,632 people), making it the state's 143rd most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 17,782 people, the population of Frankfort increased 71.13% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 10,391 people).
