Ogle County was founded in 1836 and was created by taking area from Jo Daviess County.

From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Ogle had a population of 50,660 people. This is a decrease of 5.3% since the last Census (which gave a population of 53,497 people in 2010).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Ogle represented 0.42% of the total population of Illinois.
