Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Central City had an population of 1,116 people. This is a decrease of 4.78% since the 2010 Census (or a decrease of 18.6% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Central City had a population of 1,172 people. This makes Central City the county's 4th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 1,172 people, the population of Central City decreased 14.51% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 1,371 people).

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Central City was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<6>

From that list, the Central City post office opened in 1854.

We also found Central City in the book titled List of Post Offices in the United States (1870).
