Welcome to Valley ...

So far, we found very little information about Valley. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

We've added Valley to our Gazetteer with the hope that we can develop more information. We would especially like to find the location of Valley - knowing its coordinates, we can explore things like its relationship to neighboring communities, nearby cemeteries, etc. If you can help us with Valley, please Contact Us.

While we don't have the exact location of Valley , we believe that it would have been located within present day Washington County<2>.

While we don't have a date for the founding of Valley, you might consider that their post office opened in 1851.

Time Zone: The area where Valley was located is in the Central Time Zone (CST/CDT) and observes daylight saving time

The location where Valley once stood is in the (319) area code.

Using our Gazetteer, we found that there are 33 communities that are also named Valley - they are located in Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, Illinois, Kansas (4), Kentucky (2), Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi (2), Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Brunswick, New Jersey (3), North Carolina, Nova Scotia, Ohio, Pennsylvania (2), Prince Edward Island, Texas, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin and Wyoming.

The earliest source we've referenced which mentioned Valley was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<3>

From that list, the Valley post office opened in 1851.

We also found Valley in the book titled Iowa State Gazetteer (1865).
