Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Venice had an population of 24,068 people. This is an increase of 16% since the 2010 Census (or an increase of 35.49% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Venice had a population of 20,748 people (which is 5.47% of the total population of Sarasota County). This makes Venice the county's 3rd most populous community.

The population of Venice represents 0.11% of the population of Florida (which has 18,801,310 people), making it the state's 103rd most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 20,748 people, the population of Venice increased 16.8% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 17,764 people).

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Venice was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<7>

From that list, the Venice post office opened in 1888.
