While we don't have a date for the founding of Orchid, you might consider that their post office opened  in 1887.

From the  Census Estimates for 2019, Orchid has a population of 453 people<3> (see below for details).

Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Orchid had an population of 453 people. This is an increase of 9.16% since the 2010 Census (or an increase of 223.57% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Orchid had a population of 415 people. This makes Orchid the county's 5th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 415 people, the population of Orchid increased 196.43% from the 2000 Census (which had a count of 140 people).

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Orchid was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<6>

From that list, the Orchid post office opened in 1887.
