At the time of the 2010 Census, Jasper had a population of 4,546 people (or 30.72% of the total population of Hamilton County). This makes Jasper the county's most populous community.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Jasper was in the book titled Table of U.S. Post Offices in the United States (Jan. 1851).

We also found Jasper in the book titled Business Atlas and Shippers' Guide (1895).
