At the time of the 2010 Census, Westcliffe had a population of 568 people (which is 13.35% of the total population of Custer County). This makes Westcliffe the county's 2nd most populous community.

The population of Westcliffe represents 0.01% of the total population of Colorado (which has 5,029,196 people), making it the state's 187th most populous community.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Westcliffe was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<7>

From that list, the Westcliffe post office opened in 1881.

We also found Westcliffe in the book titled Business Atlas and Shippers' Guide (1895).
