Welcome to Malta ...So far, we found very little information about Malta. The location of Malta has been provided by the Geographic Names Information System (ie- the GNIS).<3> While we don't have a date for the founding of Malta, you might consider that their post office opened in 1875. While the community is gone, the present day location for Malta is 9,590 feet [2,923 m] above sea level.<4> In other words, the altitude of Malta is about 1¾ mile [or ~3 km] above sea level. Time Zone: The area where Malta was located is in the Mountain Time Zone (MST/MDT) and observes daylight saving time Malta would have been located in the (719) area code.
