Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Longmont had an population of 97,316 people. This is an increase of 12.8% since the 2010 Census (or an increase of 36.89% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Longmont had a population of 86,270 people (which is 29.29% of the total population of Boulder County). This makes Longmont the county's 2nd most populous community.

The population of Longmont represents 1.72% of the total population of Colorado (which has 5,029,196 people), making it the state's 13th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 86,270 people, the population of Longmont increased 21.35% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 71,093 people).

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Longmont was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<8>

From that list, the Longmont post office opened in 1873.
