While we don't have a date for the founding of Irwin, you might consider that their post office opened in 1879. While the community is gone, the present day location for Irwin is 10,190 feet [3,106 m] above sea level.<3> In other words, the elevation of Irwin is about 2 miles [or ~3¼ km] above sea level. Time Zone: The area where Irwin was located is in the Mountain Time Zone (MST/MDT) and observes daylight saving time Irwin would have been located in the (970) area code.
