While we don't have a date for the founding of Brookside, you might consider that their post office opened  in 1888.

The town was incorporated in 1913.

Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Brookside had an population of 261 people. This is an increase of 12.02% since the 2010 Census (or an increase of 19.18% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Brookside had a population of 233 people. This makes Brookside the county's 6th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 233 people, the population of Brookside increased 6.39% from the 2000 Census (which had a count of 219 people).

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Brookside was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<6>

From that list, the Brookside post office opened in 1888.
